Caregiving responsibility

monitoring | Senior Acceptance | caregivers | Supporting caregivers | Conflict Resolution

Siblings need to sustain elderly parent caregiving by taking responsibility. Family members are the first line of caregivers. Showing care, concern, and empathy are essential to helping seniors through their remaining years. Often times decisions pertaining to elder care are made based on the convenience of the sidlings. We don't want our own busy agendas to be interrupted.

We have set our standards high and we are focused on achieving our own lofty goals. We don't admit it, but taking care of our senior parents is taking away from our goals and a hindrance to reaching the quality of life we desire.

There may be a need to change our thinking about what is important. Siblings need to sustain elderly parent caregiving by taking responsibility for their parents.

These are some of the things that will need to take place:

  • readjust my lifestyle.
  • Reserve increased time for caregiving
  • Improve communication with parents
  • Establish a unity among loved ones or caregivers.
  • Meet with other family members to understand all tasks.

Caregiving is a major responsibility.
