Family Unity

Priorities | Activities | Environment | Relatives | Travel | Crisis

Taking steps to reenforce family unity helps build strength to handle life issues and crisis. There are no shortcuts. Families need to intentionly spend time together building strong bonds. Being able to make decisions together, enjoy each others company, and support each other when they encounter problems or crisis are all part of family unity. It comes down to having the confidence that their is unselfish love for each other.

In this fast paced world this effort often gets overlooked or pushed aside by other priorities. Many everyday activities and goals are necessary and good. However, activities such as work, education and entertainment can crowd out family interaction. These activities can pull individuals further and further from home and apart from each other.

For parents who would really like to have a good family life, this can lead to stressful conflict. We battle between priorities and family responsibility. We often feel guilty for not building good family unity and values.

Children too, can be a barrier. They don't feel this responsibility and would perfer to do their own thing. It can be a real challenge to get everyone on the same page with the same heart for growing together.
