Personality types: Understanding family members

Recognizing personality types

When you understand the tendencies of family members, you can appreciate the differences between you and those around you. Husbands and wives, children, teenagers, grandparents and other relatives all are unique. With friends and other associates, you may be able to avoid the other person. But when the other person is your marriage partner or a family member, you need to face the issues and resolve them.

Personality traits are closely related to character traits. These are characteristics that a person is born with that influences how they look at life. They impact assertiveness and energy, emotional stability, imagination, and receptivity to instruction. Personality impacts how a person will respond to discipline and strong character training.
